Astrophysics

I hold a PhD in Astrophysics, with research focused on Active Galactic Nuclei. My work combines observational data, theoretical modeling, and a passion for understanding the universe’s most extreme phenomena.

Below are the publications where my research has been published.

Published papers

Exploring the nature of the jetted hybrid AGNs: PKS 2004-447, 3C 286, and PKS 0440-00 through the SED modeling

Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2024

This research explores how relativistic jets from supermassive black holes influence the observable properties of different active galaxies. By modelling the spectral energy distributions of hybrid and reclassified sources, the study examines how jet orientation, magnetic dominance, and accretion power shape their behaviour and classification. The findings suggest that some objects may bridge traditionally distinct AGN populations, offering new insight into their physical connection and evolution.

Modelling the compact and extended jet emission regions in gamma-ray emitting Narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies

Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2025

This study investigates how relativistic jets in gamma-ray emitting Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxies generate and dissipate energy. Using a multi-component modelling approach that accounts for both compact and extended jet regions, the research provides a more realistic estimate of their power and emission mechanisms. The results highlight the complexity of these systems and suggest that additional jet-launching processes are required to fully explain their extreme energetics.

Honors & Distinctions

Alfonso Caso Medal – UNAM (2025)

In 2025, I was honored with the Alfonso Caso Medal by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), awarded to the most outstanding Master’s thesis at the postgraduate level.

Vatican Observatory Summer School (2020)

Selected to participate in the Vatican Observatory Summer School, “Centres of Galaxies: Theory Meets Observations.”

Though the 2020 edition was canceled, the selection represented an international academic distinction.
